211 Long Island - 2-1-1 Long Island is a free, non-emergency information service that connects Long Island residents to health and human services they may need on a daily basis or during a disaster. 2-1-1 Long Island provides web visitors with detailed information on nearly 10,000 community resources for help and assistance in a range of areas.

Autism Society of America - Offers support and educational materials for children, adolescents, and adults (and their families) with autism and related disorders including Asperger’s Syndrome and pervasive developmental disorder.

BabyCenter - Information for parents and future parents, and advice from experts on topics from pre-conception through toddlerhood.

Child Care Council of Suffolk & Child Care Council of Nassau - Provides child care resources and referral, and supports children, families, employers, providers and the public to ensure that quality child care takes its place as an integral part of society. Also offers consultation on child care options and community education and advocacy.

Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorders (CHADD) - Resources and support for children and adults with attention deficit disorders and their families.

Disney Family - a fun website featuring activities, crafts, recipes, party ideas, and more Disney fun!

Early Years Institute - Educating parents, professionals and the public about the importance of a child's early years, helping to expand and improve quality learning opportunities for young children. Offers “Pick-a-Park”, a searchable database with details of over 700 Long Island Parks.

Get Ready to Read - Get Ready to Read! is designed to support educators, parents, and young children in the development of early literacy skills in the years before kindergarten. Intended for use with all children, the resources and information provided on this site promote skill-building, communication between adults, and ways to address concerns.

Homeschool World - Obtain the latest homeschooling news and articles. This site is updated very frequently and is created by the publishers of Practical Homeschooling and Homeschool PC.

Khan Academy - Khan Academy is a not-for-profit with the goal of changing education for the better by providing a free world-class education for anyone anywhere. All of the site's resources are available to anyone. It doesn't matter if you are a student, teacher, home-schooler, principal, adult returning to the classroom after 20 years, or a friendly alien just trying to get a leg up in earthly biology. Khan Academy's materials and resources are available to you completely free of charge.

KidsHealth from Nemours - offers health resources for parents, kids and teens in easy-to-understand language.

Long Island Volunteer Center - The Long Island Volunteer Center is an all-volunteer agency working to provide support to, and promote and advocate for, volunteer service on Long Island.

National Down Syndrome Society - NDSS offers education, research and advocacy at this site with general, clinical and special programs information, as well as links to other sites on the Internet focusing on Down Syndrome.

New York State Citizen's Coalition for Children - NYSCCC unites adoptive and foster parent groups, concerned agencies, and individuals throughout NY State. NYSCCC represents the citizen’s viewpoint and works to improve and expand the services available to children and families.

New York State Department of Health - including resources such as Directory Services, Vital Records, Information for Health Care Providers, Information for Consumers, Health Care Data for Researchers, Public Health Forum and Other Health Related Sites and more.

New York State Education Department - offering resources and information for parents, students, teachers, administrators, and the public. Provides access to resources on state testing, standards, teacher certification, licensing, and much more.

New York State Family Resources - a site designed to help you locate high-quality resources available on-line, in local libraries or by purchase at various stores in New York State.

New York State Government Information Locator Service - The NYS GILS provides a single point of access to information services provided by New York State Government agencies, the State Legislature and the Judiciary.

New York Therapy Placement Services (known as NYTPS) is a NYS approved provider of early intervention (birth-3) and Preschool services (3-5) under contract with Nassau and Suffolk County, NYC DOE and NYS DOH.

US Department of Health & Human Services Family Page - The HHS is the government’s principal agency for protecting the health of all Americans and providing essential human services, especially for those who are least able to help themselves. Family site includes resources and on topics such as military families, health, financial assistance, insurance, family safety, and statistics.

Welcome to Parenthood: A Family Guide - a publication from the NYS Department of Health featuring important resources for new families such as important telephone numbers, advice for new parents, "survival tips," and so much more.

Zero to Three Parent Resources - Zero to Three is a national nonprofit organization providing parents and professionals with early childhood developmental resources. The parent resources section features brochures and guides for raising your child through the early years.
